Ploughman's Sunset (24"x 24")

Description: An original oil painting completed in my studio. It captures the dusty Autumn atmosphere of recently ploughed paddocks near my home town, Canowindra. Central to the composition is gum tree with the setting sun silhouetting the tree while illuminating the dusty air. The filtered light adds depth to the scene with distant trees fading with atmospheric perspective. The contrasts between the warm light and cool shadows create a lasting impression of the Australian landscape. This painting is a perfect example of how I work, leaving the finer details for the viewers mind to complete.
