Dray near Halls Gap (8"x 10")
Description: Dray near Halls Gap (8” × 10”, oil on Belgian linen panel) was painted as my first dedicated demonstration for a plein air workshop at Grampians Brushes 2025. The old dray, nestled against the magnificent Halls Gap landscape, became the perfect subject for exploring light and atmosphere. Painted quickly with a broad brush to capture the fleeting play of shadow and sun, this impressionistic work balances complexity and spontaneity, inviting the viewer to experience the freshness and immediacy of plein air painting.
