Grampians from The Valley (6"x 8")

Description: 'Grampians from The Valley' (6” × 8”, oil on Belgian linen panel) was painted during my plein air workshop at Grampians Brushes 2025. The venue, ‘The Valley,’ with its wide verandah and sweeping grounds, offered endless inspiration—but I was drawn to the commanding presence of the mountains that overlook the property. Painted quickly while guiding my students, this impressionistic study captures the shifting light of the day—clouds drifting overhead, their shadows gliding across the land, while bright sunlight illuminated the foreground and distant trees. A small work, yet full of the atmosphere and grandeur of the Grampian Ranges.
