From Warree (10"x 10")
Description: From Warree is a 10” x 10” oil painting on canvas, created en plein air on the edge of the well-known Warree property near Cargo, NSW. It forms part of my Australian Sky series—paintings that focus on the ever-changing skies above the Australian landscape.
This piece captures a dramatic, cloud-filled sky, painted directly from life. Shifting clouds sweep across the canvas, with patches of pale blue and hints of turquoise breaking through near the horizon. As in the rest of the series, the land is reduced to a slim strip along the bottom of the painting—an impression of gently undulating grasslands and distant trees, observed but not overworked.
Loose and expressive, From Warree conveys the movement and atmosphere of the moment, where the land lies quiet and low, and the sky takes centre stage.
