First Light (12"x 12")

Description: 'First Light'  captures the quiet beauty of dawn in the remote outback town of Cockburn, near the South Australian border. In this impressionistic oil painting, the first rays of sunlight gently illuminate treetops, rooftops, and a thin strip of tarred road, flanked by wide expanses of red dirt—a distinctive feature of outback towns.  

Above, dark clouds linger, though they appear ready to drift away with the morning breeze. Though a few hardy trees remain near the houses, no grass survives in this desolate yet quietly compelling environment.
