Description: Night Sky is a 10” x 10” oil on canvas, part of my Australian Sky series—a collection exploring the drama and subtlety of the skies above Australia.
This work shares the series’ signature composition: a narrow strip of land at the base—silhouetted trees, rooftops, and the flicker of a window’s light—beneath a vast and luminous sky. The horizon glows faintly with the ambient light of a distant town, while above, the sky deepens into rich shades of blue, violet, and near-black. Tracing the arc of the Milky Way, the painting suggests a scatter of stars—some clear, others faint—emerging from the dark.
Impressionistic and painterly, Night Sky evokes the quiet wonder of looking upward after dusk, when the world below fades and the heavens come alive.
