Description
‘Patchwork’ is a plein air original oil painting on Belgian linen panel. 8×6 inches. Amazingly this is the first plein air painting on the street I have done in Canowindra, my home town. The first!! I have lived here over 20 years and painted 100’s of streetscapes of the town as studio paintings. So I am really pleased to have overcome whatever obsticle was preventing me from just getting out and doing some. After painting ‘Patchwork’ I did 2 more 8×6 paintings standing in the street. So this is the first in that small series of 3. The name of the painting comes from the subject if the painting contains a small shop called The Plague and I which focuses on the dangerous hobby of patchwork. It is the purple shop in the middle. But Patchwork plein air is made up of original blocks and shapes a bit like patchwork. To see more of my plein air process of painting, visit my blog and have a look around.
